Pam Tatlow has announced that she is to retire as Chief Executive of MillionPlus, the Association for Modern Universities, in March 2017.
In a statement Pam Tatlow said:
“After much thought and consideration I have asked the Chair of MillionPlus, Professor Dave Phoenix, and the Members of MillionPlus to commence the search for my successor in Autumn 2016 with a view to retiring in March 2017.
“When I was appointed in 2004 I did not imagine that I would stay for 12 years but modern universities, their Vice-Chancellors, staff, students and graduates have been an endless source of inspiration. It has been a great privilege to lead MillionPlus, especially during a period of rapidly changing funding and policy regimes throughout the UK.
“Being formally retired will undoubtedly provide more time and new opportunities to engage in other interests but I have every intention of continuing to pursue my life-long passion for and belief in the power of education to change lives.’
Professor Dave Phoenix, Vice-Chancellor and Chair of MillionPlus said:
“During Pam’s leadership of MillionPlus higher education has seen significant changes in how it is funded and regulated. During that time Pam has been unwavering in her support for modern universities, students and her advocacy of the transformational nature of university education and research. I have greatly enjoyed working with her over a number of years and wish her well for the future. She will leave a strong platform on which her successor can continue to build.”
