MillionPlus, the Association for Modern Universities, has today (2 February) commented on the Lifelong Learning (Higher Education Fee Limits) Bill, tabled on 1 February.
Rachel Hewitt, Chief Executive of MillionPlus, said:
“From the outset MillionPlus and its members have argued that a lifelong learning entitlement could be transformative in allowing people to re-train and re-skill at different times in their lives, and we have engaged constructively with DfE officials from day one to help shape the approach taken. As such, we welcome that legislative steps are now being paved on the way to the introduction of such a crucial policy and will engage with officials on the next stages of its development.”

- What are modern universities? Modern universities are long established centres of higher education in their communities with roots that stretch back decades, if not centuries. Many gained university title following legislation agreed by parliament in 1992. They make up almost half of the UK university sector with over a million students studying at modern universities every year.
