The university think-tank million+ has welcomed the publication of a report by the Higher Education Commission titled ‘Too good to fail: the sustainability of higher education in England’. The report sets out six options for funding universities in the future and makes recommendations about research funding.
Pam Tatlow, Chief Executive, million+ said:
“The HE Commission has provided a useful summary of the options available to fund higher education in England and the recommendation that excellent research should be funded wherever it is found is very welcome.
“The general election is only months away and all political parties need to set out how they will end the hyper-concentration of research funding and fully fund a higher education system in England that offers a high level of opportunity for all those who can benefit whatever their age or background.”
