Large companies and local firms learned about the new Degree Apprenticeship qualification at an event hosted by the University of West London (UWL).
Held in the Savoy Suite at UWL’s campus in Ealing recently, it featured representatives from McDonald’s, Pladis (formerly United Biscuits) and a host of small and medium-sized businesses, who heard presentations by two of the university's apprenticeship employers.
UWL is an approved provider of the new English apprenticeship model, which develops high-level technical skills by combining together vocational and higher education.
At the event, delegates learned about the benefits to business of welcoming the next generation of talent into the workplace, such as improved productivity and innovation. Members of UWL’s academic teams also took part to find out about opportunities for delivering degree apprenticeships in the classroom.
