Dr Greg Walker, Chief Executive of MillionPlus, has written for the Times Higher Education on the ongoing issue around potential increases to employer pension contributions.

Increasing the amount of money employers are expected to pay in to the Teachers Pension Scheme will harm the social mobility missions of modern universities, he says.

He writes: "Modern universities are the powerhouses of social mobility for many in socially excluded communities. Forcing them to divert investment from these critical agendas to address an irrationally large pension contribution hike seems like a major and avoidable own goal for the UK."
