MillionPlus comment on preserving BTECs
MillionPlus, the Association for Modern Universities, has today (16 July) commented on the need to preserve BTEC qualifications.
Rachel Hewitt, Chief Executive of MillionPlus, said:
“MillionPlus has proudly supported the #protectstudentchoice campaign from the outset, calling for BTECs to be maintained pending a review in our election manifesto and again yesterday in our new publication, New Government, new start.
“T-Levels have their place in the skills landscape, but they will never be for everyone and they should not be pursued at the expense of established qualifications that have made higher education more accessible to students from non-traditional backgrounds.”

- What are modern universities? Modern universities are long established centres of higher education in their communities with roots that stretch back decades, if not centuries. Many gained university title following legislation agreed by parliament in 1992. They make up almost half of the UK university sector with over a million students studying at modern universities every year.
